It’s hard to remember that it is still winter with the weather we are having. It really feels like spring outside. I know what the calendar says but it is hard to override my senses and settle on the reality that it is winter and will probably be winter for quite a while still. We don’t just struggle with this battle, our senses vs reality, with the weather. Often, we struggle to remember how God sees us. When we are having a bad day, we feel like no one cares and that we are unworthy of love. Our emotions can change but God never does. So how does God see you?

I think God would like you to hear Isaiah 43. It says:

                  “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
                    I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
                    I will be with you;
  and when you pass through the rivers,
                    they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
                    you will not be burned;
                    the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the Lord your God,
                    the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
                    I give Egypt for your ransom,
                    Cush and Seba in your stead.
4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
                    and because I love you,
  I will give people in exchange for you,
                    nations in exchange for your life.
5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you;

What an amazing love God has for you! He cares so much that he would trade nations for you. In fact, he paid even more than that for you; He died on the cross so that He could save you. There is a song by Red Rocks Worship, Not Afraid (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRetFyXS5dc) , that is based on these verses. The writer expresses how they will not be afraid because of Gods promises. What would you do this week if you were not afraid? What would you do if you remembered how God feels about you?
